MultiStages - New York's multicultrual, multidisciplinary, theatre company presents The New Works Playwriting Contest!
MultiStages, is seeking original, unproduced, high quality, full-length, multidisciplinary plays by established and emerging writers for its fourth New Works Playwriting Contest. MultiStages was founded by Lorca Peress in 1997 to develop and produce new theatrical works that embrace elements of art forms not typically found in theatre. Since 1997, MultiStages has produced close to 20 theatrical world premiere productions and readings of new work by emerging and established writers from around the world; and collaborated with award-winning poets, choreographers, composers, visual artists, and filmmakers. To date, MultiStages has offered opportunities to hundreds of playwrights, actors, and directors through its New Works Contests. The mission of MultiStages is to develop multidisciplinary, multicultural, theatre between emerging and established artists within and outside the theatre arena. By encouraging these cross-collaborations, new works are created that enrich, explore, and reinvent the world of theatre.
